How do I search for Peer Reviewed (Refereed) Articles?
Some of our databases have filters for peer reviewed articles. Below are some examples of the appearance and the use of these filters in three of our major products. Many of our other databases have filters for peer reviewed sources as well.
1. OneSearch from the Library Home page:
|Do a search in OneSearch.||
|On the results list, click on the "Scholary Only" checkbox in the left column:||
|You will see a "Peer Reviewed" notation near each item which would confirm its status.||
2. Proquest Databases (click here to go to a search of all of our proquest products)
|With the different Proquest products, you might see a check box near the search window:
or after you do your search, you might have to look on the right hand side of the search results page and see if their are filters for "peer reviewed" or "scholarly".
Some of the products do not have the filter at all.
|There may be a check box on the search page that looks like either of these:||
You may have to scroll down quite a ways to see it. The check box could be in the left column or the right column. Some of the Ebsco products do not have the filter at all.
